Thirty-eight Comal ISD Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

April 29, 2026 - Thirty-eight Comal ISD student athletes signed letters of intent to play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level during several signing day events in March and April.

Proud family, friends, coaches and teammates watched as student athletes from all five of Comal ISD’s comprehensive high schools signed letters of intent to play their sport at the next level.

A few highlights from the spring events include the variety of sports to be played from wrestling, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, football, swim and powerlifting to track and field, basketball, tennis and dance.

Two students signed with military academies with Kahdyn Freeman from Pieper High School heading to the United States Naval Academy for track and field and two-time state wrestling champion Bryce Palmer from Smithson Valley High School heading to the United States Air Force Academy for wrestling.

Congratulations to each of these athletes for achieving their dreams through hard work, determination and perseverance. These signing days represents a culmination of years of early morning and late-night practices, lessons, wins and losses.

 

From Canyon High School, four student athletes signed letters.

From Davenport High School, 10 student athletes signed letters.

  • Miles Pappas, soccer, University of Chester UDA Soccer Academy

  • Abby Symon, soccer, The University of Texas Permian Basin
  • Kannon Van Valkenburgh, baseball, Marion University Plymouth
  • Brody Vestal, football, Trinity University
  • Kamrynn Williams, volleyball, Xavier University of Louisiana
