April 23, 2026 - Hill Country College Preparatory High School Valedictorian Keshav Singh is celebrating four years of hard work and dedication this graduation season. From reminiscing high school memories to the anticipation of new beginnings, read on to learn more about Keshav’s Path to Success.
Q) How did you find out you were Valedictorian?
A) I was pulled into Ms. Wiley’s room during my first period class and was informed that I was officially the class Valedictorian. There were congratulations and I was super happy! I am very competitive, so the idea that I may not maintain my spot motivated me to work harder.
Q) How did you celebrate this accomplishment?
A) I went home, gave my parents a high five, and we went out to dinner at a nice Indian restaurant to celebrate.
Q) Describe the entirety of your high school experience in one word.
A) Suspenseful.
Q) What is your favorite high school memory?
A) The culmination of the community we’ve built here on campus. We are like a family, which makes my favorite memory just all of the times we’ve come together and supported each other, and all the days we would stay up late working on something hard in the moment, but we knew we were building towards something better.
Q) What is one thing you would change about your high school experience?
A) I am very lucky that I do not have many things I regret, but if there was one thing I could change, I would try more things. I wish I had been a little bit more open minded about all of the awesome opportunities Hill Country provides, like joining the film club.
Q) If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?
A) The mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. He was born in 1887 and worked at the University of Cambridge, despite having no formal education in mathematics. He was such a cool guy, the way he could visualize math in a way that nobody at that time could, just shows how brilliant he was. I would love to have dinner with him and discuss where he gets his mathematical intuition.
Q) What song would you use to describe your high school experience?
A) “Starman” by David Bowie. It is so nice to have a song that represents a sense of optimism about the future, but also the importance of protecting the things you have.
Q) Which university will you be attending, and why?
A)I will be attending the University of Texas at Austin and studying Computer Science with the hopes of receiving an MA in Data Science. They have one of the best programs in the United States and it is nearby, so the decision to attend was fairly simple. Plus, I love the campus culture!
Q) What are your plans after graduation?
A) I’d like to travel a bit and visit my family in India, possibly interning to gain experience, and just spending time with my family at home before moving to Austin.
Q) What's a piece of advice you'd give your younger self?
A) Be whatever - do what you want. Life’s too short to have regrets.
Thank you Keshav Singh for Growing Greatness on your Path to Success!
